Privacy Policy
Effective June 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SpaceMint handles information when you use the SpaceMint application and related services.
1. Our privacy approach
SpaceMint is designed to analyze photos, videos, contacts, and duplicate candidates locally on your device. SpaceMint does not require an account for its core on-device cleanup features.
2. Device permissions
Depending on the features you choose, SpaceMint may request permission to access:
- Photos and videos: to identify duplicates, similar photos, screenshots, and large media.
- Contacts: to identify possible duplicate or incomplete contacts.
You can change these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
3. Google Drive and Google Photos
If you connect a Google account, SpaceMint uses Google OAuth and requests limited access appropriate to the feature you select. SpaceMint accesses only files or media you explicitly authorize or select through Google-provided selection flows.
- Selected Google media may be downloaded temporarily for duplicate analysis on your device.
- OAuth credentials are stored using the iOS Keychain.
- SpaceMint does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising.
- SpaceMint does not transfer Google user data to data brokers.
- SpaceMint does not automatically delete your Google Drive or Google Photos content.
SpaceMint's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. Local data and cache
SpaceMint may store local scan state, media identifiers, hashes, dimensions, category summaries, preferences, and cleanup history so that the app can operate efficiently. Temporary cloud downloads are intended to be removed after analysis. You can clear supported scan cache from the Privacy Center inside the app.
5. Purchases
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. SpaceMint may receive entitlement and transaction status needed to unlock paid features, but does not receive your full payment-card information.
6. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The current version of SpaceMint does not include third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs. If this changes, this policy and applicable consent disclosures will be updated before those features are used.
7. Sharing and disclosure
SpaceMint does not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or to service providers strictly necessary to operate a feature and subject to appropriate safeguards.
8. Data retention and deletion
Local app data remains on your device until it is cleared, overwritten, or the app is removed. Disconnecting Google removes the stored OAuth token from SpaceMint. You may also revoke SpaceMint's access from your Google Account security settings.
9. Children
SpaceMint is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in the applicable jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical safeguards, including iOS permission controls and Keychain storage for OAuth credentials. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as SpaceMint evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
